Departing from Wellington city, head north on State Highway 2 for 10 minutes.  Turn left  up the slip road at the sign ‘Maungaraki and Lower Hutt City Centre’, onto Dowse Drive.

(Alternatively, if driving from the north, head south on State Highway 2.  Take the slip road exit signposted Petone and Lower Hutt City Centre.  Go up to the roundabout and keep right driving over Highway 2 and then turn left onto the Maungaraki turn, Dowse Drive.)

Follow Dowse Drive up the hill and past the Maungaraki shops.  Just over one kilometre beyond these shops at St Aidans Church turn left into Stratton Street.

After ½ kilometre, turn left again into Stratton Street at the ‘Belmont Regional Park' sign.

Continue for 1 kilometre and you will pass a red barn on the left followed by a yellow horse sign on the left.  Another large blue sign indicating ‘Belmont Regional Park', next to our own sign for Belmont Park Retreat on the left hand side - Number 147.

Please note that the carpark, health clinic and main house are at the bottom of the driveway.

Take flights into Wellington airport, or, take the ferry from Picton, South Island,  to Wellington, North Island.  Both airport and ferry terminal transport is available to Wellington city central railway station.

Alternatively, ‘Metlink’ provides two North Island trains into Wellington city central train station:

- ‘The Overlander’ train at any point enroute from Auckland, or,
- ‘The Capital Connection’ train from Palmerston North.

‘Intercity’ or ‘Newmans’ provide coach services on most main routes throughout New Zealand. See the ‘Metlink website for coach travel details.

From Wellington station, take either of the following suburban ‘Tranz Metro’ train lines to Petone Station:

- Melling Line
- Upper Hutt (Valley) Line
- Wairarapa Line

N.B. Please check these suburban train schedules carefully as some ‘express’ trains on these lines may not stop at Petone Station.

Pick-up by BPR is available from the local Petone railway station for individuals with advance pick-up booking, for NZ$10.00 charge (except WWOOFs).
